Do You Norwex? + Giveaway

This is a little unusual.  I usually write about books.  Or the funny things my kids do.  Or my lack of housekeeping skills.  Or Cee’s health.

Hey!  This sort of relates to my poor housekeeping skills!  I’m busy keeping four kids alive, so I can’t be bothered to scrub anything other than kids’ faces every day.  Even that scrubbing gets neglected every now and then…

Enter Norwex.

I was first introduced to Norwex five-ish? years ago.  I was given an Enviro-Cloth.  I use it all the time, but never gave the company or product much thought.

I use it to clean crayon off walls, schmutz off windows, and everyday yuck off everything using only water.  It’s the only washcloth (or rag) that continues to be useful after that much use.  As a frugalissima mom, that speaks to me almost as much as its effectiveness.

When a friend had a Norwex party, my eyes were opened to all the other household wonders that Norwex has to offer.  I learned about what makes the products ideal for me as a frugal and environmentally concerned mom.

Furthermore, we need to be very cautious about germs given Cee’s compromised immune system.  But antibacterial soap, bleach, and other cleaning chemicals are not kid-friendly ways to clean.  After flipping through the catalog online, there are so many products that would benefit our family!

Collections of wonderfulness aside, these are the specific Norwex products I’m drooling over.

1.  Dryer Balls
Item #: 357021

I love things that “pay for themselves” over time.  Wool dryer balls replace fabric softener as well as reduce the amount of time (and energy!) needed to do laundry.  These beauties are numero uno on my wishlist.

2.  Body Pack
Item #: 309044

There is no justice in the universe.  It should be that someone has to deal with either acne or grey hair, and not the two simultaneously.  But that’s not my experience.  Several friends have offered anecdotal evidence that the antibacterial silver threads in these washcloths in combination with the fancy microfiber help minimize acne, without the need for strong cleansers.  Sign.  Me.  Up.

3.  EnviroWand® with Two-Sided Sleeve
Item #: 357051

My ceiling fans have this fuzzy Sasquatch thing going on.  I dusted them a few times once, but I almost died.  So I decided to forgo risking my life to get the buggers clean.  Either I need to work on my coordination, or invest in this guy.

I remember using my grandma’s fuzzy rainbow-colored dusting wand when I was younger, but it just moved the dust.  The dust actually sticks to this guy for sneeze-free cleaning.

4.  Kids Pet To Dry
Item #: 309017 (Bear)

If I had a dollar for every time I found the bathroom hand towel on the floor or counter instead of hanging, I could buy several of these bears.

I’m not sure how well the kids actually wash their hands, so I like that the material in this hand towel replacement is naturally resistant to bacteria.

5.  Kitchen Towel
Item #: 307110 (orchid)

The kitchen towels we use to dry dishes…get stinky.  That grosses me out.  One of the biggest things I’ve heard from Norwex fans is that the cleaning cloths, washcloths, towels, etc. don’t get stinky.  Besides the whole awesome cleaning power of micro-fiber, the bacteria resistant silver in the cloths is appealing.

My Enviro-Cloth hasn’t ever gotten stinky, and I’ve only washed it a handful of times over the past few years.

6.  Hair Turban
Item #: 309051 (light blue)

After Moe dunked my blow-dryer in the toilet, I went without blow-drying my hair for about a year.  Even in the winter.

I eventually broke down and bought one, (#hairsicles) but it mostly gathers dust.  This turban would dry my hair without having to stand in the bathroom for 20 minutes.

7.  Optic Scarf
Item #: 305205 (butterfly print)

It took me awhile to figure out what this was.  It’s a special glasses/screen cleaning cloth that has a clip to attach to your purse.  As a full-time glasses wearer with kids, my glasses are always dirty, and our glasses cleaning cloths are often MIA.

I don’t have a fancy phone, but I imagine this would work great for that as well.

8. Reusable Produce Bags
Item #: 1466

We go through a lot of produce.  A lot.  And I feel like an awful person for using plastic bags to keep my apples or peaches from running amok in my cart.  I might as well be clubbing baby seals right there in the grocery store.  These produce bags are good stewardship!

These are some of the products that fill a need for my home.  There are many more that you might find useful for your particular set of housekeeping problems.  Check out the online catalog at your own risk.  You might find your wishlist growing as long as mine!  🙂

Ever since switching to TeamGlasses from TeamContacts, I’ve been longing for a lens cleaning cloth solution. I think I might clip one to our diaperbag/purse and one to my kitchen cupboards. 🙂
