SQT {16}: Bathroom Discoveries of the Week

bathroom-discoveries

Our bathrooms often make an appearance in my quick takes.  You can read more about crimes against soap and how much I dislike liquid handsoap if you missed them.  But these seven quick takes cover the unusual items that have called the bathroom home this week.

Master Bath Find 1: Painted Pumpkins

The only non-carpeted floor with a shuttable door is the bathroom.  So after the kids painted pumpkins, three good-size pumpkins found a drying place in my smallish bathroom.  I put them there, but they were still a surprise every time I escaped to the bathroom.  Why was I escaping to the bathroom more often today?

Master Bath Find 2:  Dark Chocolate Biscotti

David picked some up for me as a treat, and the bathroom is the safest place for such a thing.  “Yes, kids, I do need to go potty again…”

Master Bath Find 3:  One Random Shoe That Doesn’t Fit Anyone

Bea’s at the stage where she likes carrying things around and dropping them places.  My bathroom has become a landing place since she follows me in and then abandons objects in order to start tearing up toilet paper.  If we’re heading out the door and kids need shoes, we check the bathroom before we check closets.

Master Bath Find 4:  Church Bulletin

Bea figured out how to open the drawer where we store old church bulletins.  So naturally she thinks they should be taken to the bathroom.

Master Bath Find 5:  One Size 17 Knitting Needle

I haven’t knit anything in a good long while, but I had some knitting needles stored in my closet.  Moe found the biggest pair (size 17!) and declared them to be perfect swords.  I found one in the bathroom, and I don’t know where the other is.  I’ve never been a bathroom knitter, and Moe has ensured I never will be.

Kid’s Bathroom Find 6: Bea + Toothbrushes + Toilet

I came out of my bathroom to find a wettish but pleased Bea in the other bathroom. It’s not as bad as it could have been.  At least the toilet was flushed, and the toothbrushes will be fine after a run through the dishwasher.

Kid’s Bathroom Find 7:  Hairbrush

On any given day, it’s more likely to find a ladle in our bathroom than it is to find a hairbrush.  Where do all the combs and hairbrushes go?!?!  Mark it on your calendar– on October 21, 2016 there was a hairbrush in the bathroom.  And no ladle.  Wow.

This list made me laugh. My oldest is almost three and newly potty trained, and ever since she has started using the bathroom on her own, I’ve been finding random things in there. This week it was my winter gloves. We also have a hard time keeping track of hairbrushes.

You never know what discoveries you’ll make in the bathroom! 🙂

Lol! My husband leaves empty beer cans after dinner, and empty coffee cups after breakfast, in “his” bathroom.

Ha! I loved this post and could have written every word of it (we also have a child who likes to deposit random EVERYTHING in the bathroom.) Brushes are never to be found, but for some reason there are always cooking utensils in there. Kind of gross, but that’s how it is around here.

I’m glad we’re not the only ones with bathroom chefs. What are they doing in there with the ladle?!?!

ahahaha! This is such a great idea for a post because with kids, you just never know what you might find in the bathroom on any given day. I may just have to do a similar post some time…hahaha-seriously these are all so funny and true to life with kiddos.
