Thank you for the kind words and prayers since our announcement. Having asked for prayers before, I knew how much they would inexplicably help. And– they have. It’s been like a week-long wave of peace. Thank you!
Dear Christy from Faithful Not Successful reached out and said she’d like to do something more for us from Texas. (This is one of my favorite posts from Christy, if you don’t know her already.)
I mentioned that of all the things people have done in the past for us with other babies, we really appreciate when friends and family have brought us a meal during the post-partum time. Whether it’s from scratch or in a bag straight from the store, the time, effort, and decision fatigue saved is immeasurable.
But how do you bring someone a freezer meal when you’re states away? There are some fancy meal delivery businesses, but not many that service our rural area.
Christy figured the easiest way was to set up a go-fund-me page with the intent that we go to Aldi and stock up on ready-to-go foods for the pantry and freezer, things we wouldn’t normally get. It’s a little unconventional, but it works!
Fine, we’ll have to do the shopping or prep ourselves, but we can do that before the baby comes and just getting to the store is a challenge. It was a thoughtful idea all around.
So, if you’re interested zapping us a frozen lasagna through the internet, here’s the link! Feel free to specify in the comments what you’d choose to drop by if we were real life neighbors. Gyro kit? Chicken pot pie? Enchiladas? I’ll plop a sticky note with your name on it so that when it comes out again in a few months when The New Baby arrives, we’ll think of you. Fondly. Very fondly.
Or you can be anonymous, and we’ll just pick what looks like a good balance between “kid-friendly” and “contains-actual-vegetables.”
We’re grateful for everyone who has participated so far and look forward to filling the freezer uppity up!
(Speaking of filling the freezer, if you have a surplus of frozen breastmilk and live close by, we would super appreciate that, too!)

Zapped you with a virtual meal! If I was there, I’d bring you Mexican casserole, my favorite meat free dinner EVER! Maybe I’ll send you the recipe, because it’s a keeper! Beans, rice, corn, salsa, sour cream and cheese. Bake and enjoy!

Yum! Thanks, Angela. I’ll be thinking of you as the days click down to when you get to meet your new little guy!
