Our weather is getting hot, hot, hot, which is the perfect temperature for some lemonade and clickers in the air conditioning. Here are some good reads from around the internet and library.

1. Frugal Life 4Ever!

Seems like more and more people are getting on the “stop bleeding money” train. If you’re looking for ways to cut your budget, I stumbled across
these 16 money wasters. Unfortunately there wasn’t anything new for us, but maybe you’ll find something helpful.

2. The State of Farming

Living in an agricultural area, we have a front row seat to what’s shaping up to be a poor growing season. Between sitting water and continual rain, lots of farmers weren’t able (or still aren’t able!) to get their planing done. The buzz about tariffs doesn’t make anyone feel more settled. Read more of the lovely Mikaela’s thoughts on faith and farming, and please keep our farmers in your prayers.

3. Surprising Addiction

I was curious about The Addiction That Slowly Kills Families. What would it be… Opioids? Pornography? Definitely cell-phone use. Nope, nope, and nope. Worth the read.

4. Easy Summer Read

I just finished Love & Gelato, which is equal parts romance and a summer in Italy. Technically a young adult book, it doesn’t get bogged down in a lot of R-rated content, which I appreciate since I’m really 75 years old. I’d probably give it 4/5 stars, but it would have been a 5 if paired with actual gelato.

5. Little Kids with Big Pain

Laura Kelly Fanucci shared this piece online, and I just had to share it as well. Even after six years (!!!) of living this journey, we still have a hard time understanding why children suffer.

What about you? Any interesting reads to be paired with some lemonade (or gelato!)?
