MSB {18}: Christmas Program

,

For the past few years our parish has held the Christmas program at the tail end of the Christmas season.  Like today.  January 8th.  It’s nice because the rush, rush, rush of Christmas has passed.  It’s hard because lots of people have sort of moved on from Christmas already.  (While liturgically appropriate, it feels sort of like wandering around on  Thanksgiving trying to pawn off Halloween candy.)

It was super cute, low key, and fun.  Cee wasn’t feeling up to going, but Elle did great!  We tried to get a picture.

Unfortunately all the pictures were either blurry from All The Actions Ever, or Elle’s blink-y eyes look derpy.

Meh.  That’s all I can muster.  I’ve already thought out all my deep thoughts on quiet earlier today.  Lotsa tears…

Big, warm, gentle hugs being sent your way. And, I agree – it is nice to celebrate without the hustle and bustle of the secular Christmas season! Our chaplain touched on that today, which was nice.

And, on a fashion note – I love that scarf!

When I was teaching I was always so tempted to move our “holiday” program to January because it was still Christmas! But trying to get final concert arrangements done right after all the kids came back from break and had forgotten all the music… That would’ve been brutal!

Love that scarf, too – plaid is my favorite!

Lovely scarf! I think saving the Christmas Program until the end of the Christmas season is a fantastic idea.

Aw, sounds like it was a great program. 🙂 I love that idea if hosting things later- it’s always such a rush before Christmas!
