The Life Changing Magic of Getting a Life Coach

I admit that I have scoffed at the concept of having a life coach. What kind of person needs a life coach?!?!

That changed when my friend through the internet Angela announced she was in the process of becoming certified as a life coach.

I’ve followed Angela’s blog This Mom Needs Chocolate for several years and admired her joy in momming.

When she said she was looking for clients to practice her coaching, I volunteered right away when I saw this description of her services:

Well-rested and vibrant? Cultivating the life I want to live? I was on board.

I started with a Discovery Session and then opted in to a 12-week journey. As Angela called me every week at our designated time, our chats became a high point of my week.

Now I can admit, sheepishly, that a me-kind-of-person needs a life coach. And probably a you-kind-of-person needs a life coach.

Angela was wonderful about listening and meeting me wherever I happened to be emotionally that week. She helped me sort through issues in my life and tackle changes in manageable bites. She was encouraging without being patronizing or judgmental. She offered suggestions and asked the questions I needed to answer to progress on my journey of motherhood and wifehood and personhood.

Each week she’d help me pinpoint a micro-change to make in my life. (I expected these changes to be big, painful changes. While it did take effort to incorporate new habits, it wasn’t ever painful.)

For example, together we honed in on self-care and what that needs to look like for me given my specific circumstances. (Read: not even being able to go to the bathroom without an audience.) Angela helped me discover how much creativity is a critical part of me feeling balanced and energized.

As a result of our coaching sessions, I regularly make time for something artsy-craftsy. Rather than that short-changing my family (which I feared), I discovered that it helps give me more patience. Who woulda thunk?!?! Not me. Not before I got a life coach.

My first coaching-inspired creative project!
I used some leftover paint and a free pallet to create a yard sign.

I appreciated having a life coach to listen to me in an unbiased, objective way. I was grateful to have someone to hold me accountable when trying a new habit.

Maybe it sounds cheesy, but you deserve the gift of your best life. Angela might help you find it.

The first session is a get-to-know-you chat to see if what you’re looking for and what Angela can provide are a good fit. There’s no risk, because Angela isn’t a high-pressure salesperson. She’s just a wonderful woman who has had her life transformed through life coaching and is now on a mission to share that gift with others.

The beauty of this model of life coaching is that every journey will look completely different. Each person progresses on a path specific to their needs.

Click here to schedule your no-obligation Discovery Session. Angela will call you at the time you choose, and you might just find your life transformed, too. If you have questions, feel free to email Angela at

So great that it’s been so helpful for you! I have to admit I’ve only joked about getting a life coach, but I think we could all use one sometimes.

This is awesome! Way to go, you! I actually find this a really brave decision to make – the introvert that I am shies away from this 100% – so you know you have my full admiration for reaching out, stepping up and following through. <3

It is always so good to hear when someone finds something that works.
I wish I was so brave…I am a crazy kind of introvert and the idea of that….oh my! 😛

I’m also an introvert, but it’s amazing how easy it is to be honest with someone who you don’t have to see at the post office! I’m the sort of introvert that likes learning more about how I think and approach life and why I make the choices I make. If you’re that kind of introvert, too, it might just be a good experience for you. 🙂
