Bubbling Thoughts

The kids in their Sunday best! Yes, Mateo’s Sunday best is dinosaur feetie pajams.

I have ideas and thoughts bubbling around, but not enough time to type them into something coherent. I post this mostly as a list for myself, in case I have a few minutes where I’m not scooping yuckies out of Mateo’s mouth.

– My conversation with my cousin’s lovely psychologist wife at Christmas about the state of the family and attachment issues in society today. (I worked veryvery hard at not taking her hand and asking her to be my best friend.)

– All the book goals! I started an account at Goodreads so it’s internet official. I’m completely new at Goodreads, though. Is there anything I could be doing with it besides keeping track of what I want to read and what I already read? Should I have friends on Goodreads? Is that a thing?

– How I used Jen Fulwiler’s word of the year generator as inspiration for 2019 and got the word “Pass.” Hmmmm. Any thoughts as to how this might mean something other than just saying “no” more often? Did you choose a word of the year?

– How 2018 has been one of our most difficult as a family, and how we’re trying to keep on keepin’ on.

– Getting accepted as a part of The Homeschool Review Crew for 2019. Whoop whoop! That means I’ll be posting reviews of what we’ve tried and what’s working for us.

What thoughts do you have bubbling?

    (1) I would just love to have heard more of the psychologist’s thoughts!

    (2) My 16-month-old has those same dinosaur pajamas! Don’t you just love the toenails on them?

I like having friends on Goodreads so I can see what other people are reading and if they recommend anything. I also add the books that my 9 year old daughter likes, hoping to get more recommendations for her. She is a voracious reader and I’m pretty picky about what I let my kids read. If you would like to be my Goodreads friend let me know.

I think I added you as a friend!

What a good idea to have a place to keep track of my girls’ books. I am also pretty picky and have a hard time keeping them well-supplied.

I’m on Goodreads…! It could be like a Facebook for umm books, but I mostly just use it to track what I’ve read and want to read. Though I have found that there are really good lists on there (like “Best Catholic devotionals” or things like that) that often provide good recommendations for books that I’ve never heard of.
I’ll be looking forward to reading your reviews on the HS Review crew! Congrats!

Facebook for books– that’s exactly what I need in my life. 🙂

I really like reading the reviews on Goodreads! I figure most of the people on there are avid readers with good taste…

Maybe you could “pass” along something, like joy, or faith, or something else?

      Oooh! That’s a good interpretation. I like that. 🙂
