Pushing Back

This morning Cee refused to take her medicine.  I ultimately used a trick from a nurse at the hospital, “You can take your medicine yourself, or I will have to do it for you.”  I hate to have it come to that, so hopefully it doesn’t happen often.  At least it worked.

Her rash left today, but so did her appetite.  We’ve started getting back to our normal diet, and Cee didn’t eat much today.  Is it because she’s holding out for junk food, or is she just not hungry?  Tonight she wouldn’t eat supper.  When I asked what sounded good, she said, “Something sugary.”  Eventually, I talked her into cottage cheese.

If you’re keeping count that’s Alicia 1 (medicine), Cee 1 (supper).  She did manage to stay in her PJs all day, and I made brownies so she could have “something sugary.”  So I guess we ended the day 1-3.  I won’t let Cee eat on the couch anymore.  She has to eat at the table like the rest of us, so maybe it’s more like 2-3.  At any rate, the battles make the days long.  Even a win takes so much time.

Cee has officially mastered 2 knock-knock jokes–the banana/orange and boo hoo classics.  Today Cee challenged Elle to a race up the stairs.  The battles are worth it if it means progress like that!
