Free Massages for Life?!?!

Our Journey to Melt

A couple years ago, I saw an advertisement for a couples’ massage program.  It was recommended by another Catholic mom.

Melt: Massage for Couples

I was curious.  Hopeful.

David and I were in a tough place.  Cee had been diagnosed with SOJIA for about two years.  The daily shots I had to give her at home seemed to have stopped working, because her pain level was through the roof.  She didn’t want to be touched.  She got tired quickly and could only paint or color for short periods of time before retiring to the couch.  There was nothing I could do to take away her pain.  Every day.  For months.

As I was putting all my energy into running the house, taking care of Cee, and giving Elle and Moe a normal childhood, David was trying to keep us afloat while starting a business.  At that point Cee’s medication alone cost around $3000 per month, so it was no small task.

We didn’t really have an option to get away or take a break.  We didn’t have it in our budget to go out to eat or see a movie, and we didn’t exactly have a line of babysitters waiting to care for three small kids, one of whom was medically needy.

There’s a reason that parents of children with special needs have such a high divorce rate.  The emotional and financial stress makes it all too easy to lose the connection and drift apart.

David and I certainly weren’t ready to give up, but we weren’t putting our marriage first either.  It didn’t seem like there was anything we could do, given our circumstances.

That’s why I was curious.  That’s why I was hopeful about the advertisement.

Giving and receiving a massage seemed like a simple way to decompress after what felt like drowning every day, to stay connected, and to show that our marriage was still a priority.

I liked the idea of learning how to give a good massage, and I certainly liked the idea of receiving better massages.  David was willing to give massages, but he went to school to be an accountant.  If my back was a calculator, he’d be set.  I doubt my skills were much better, but David graciously never complained.

At the time there was a Valentine’s Day special going, but it was still more than David and I had spent on our birthdays, Christmas, and anniversary combined.  For years.

I pitched the idea of splurging and spending $99 on Melt to David.

-The class had lifetime access.
-Once we learned the techniques, we would have a new skill forever.
-This could potentially be the source of “dates in,” where we didn’t have to get a sitter.
-Free massages for life after taking the class.

It didn’t take much to sell him on the idea.  After all, he knew that our stress level was astronomical.  This seemed like the perfect way to stay connected and relax.

So, we purchased the course after putting the kids to bed and were immediately able to access it online.

We were not disappointed.

The videos were tastefully done.  (You can check out a sample video here to get an idea of the style, and to hear the instructor Denis’ Australian buttah accent.)

I’m sensitive about PG-13 content, so I appreciated that the class didn’t contain any nudity or anything risque.  The massage-r and massage-ee in the videos are a married couple, Denis and Emma.  (FYI: there was one reference to contraception in one of the videos.   But in the grand scheme of things it was easy to ignore.)

My anxiety about having invested that much money melted away (see what I did there?) after we went through a couple of the course videos.  It was worth the investment.  For sure.  The directions were easy to follow, and we had the ability to pause and re-watch sections to make sure we understood.  We took turns practicing, and it was fun and awkwardness-free.

David’s massage skill level went from calculator to genuinely enjoyable right away.

Years later we are still reaping the benefits from that Valentines/anniversary/birthday/Christmas gift.  The Melt videos have lifetime access, so we are able to go back and “brush up” on our massaging skills whenever we choose.

That special offer we took advantage of?  It’s happening again this year!  Melt is on sale for $99 for a limited time.   The regular price is $171…so this is a super deal for a lifetime of free massages.

What’s Included in the Course:

– 17 Back Rub Techniques
– 3 Back Rub Routines (from Basic to Advanced)
– Foot Rub How To Video + Routine Video

There are a whole heap of people who would benefit from the Melt series:

Still looking for a gift for your spouse for St. Valentine’s Day?
Suspect your spouse hasn’t made any plans for a gift for you?   😉
Have a friend getting married soon?
Know a couple going through a stressful time?

The Melt Couples Massage course might be exactly what you’re looking for.

There is a gift voucher option, so it’s possible to take advantage of the sale now and give the course as a gift later.

The series is called “Melt” for a reason.  This is *not* a course on how to give a professional massage.  It *is* a course on how to give a relaxing massage that will make your spouse feel melt-y.  And that’s the perfect birthday/anniversary/Christmas/St. Valentine’s Day gift for years to come.

Take advantage of the Melt sale!
