A Positive and a Negative

First the positive:  Stephanie has generously offered to take off work for the rest of the week so Moe can stay with us!  Elle will still go back to Iowa (and she’ll love her time at Grandma’s), but this way I can be the one waking up with baby Moe during the night.  I have to give a shout out to my parents for raising such a great kid.  Having our little guy here will make the next few days so much better.

Now the negative:  The bone marrow biopsy came back negative!  There is zero cancer in her bone marrow.  Good news!  We can’t take too much time to celebrate though, because we still don’t know what’s going on. The team of doctors is going to regroup now that leukemia is off the table. We’ll see what direction they want to start exploring next.
Cee’s hip (the site of the bone marrow draw) is tender, and now she’s got little sores in her mouth (a new symptom…we’ll add it to the list).  We’re going to try some stronger anti-inflammatory medicine to help with the swelling and pain in her ankle.  She won’t put any weight on it, so she isn’t walking at all.  Our biggest battles are still with eating and drinking.  There’s talk of turning down her IV fluids to see if that encourages her to drink more.  For now we’re still enjoying our victory with the bone marrow!
